The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Hoffman Estates infrastructure. This includes streets, parkways, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, creeks and drainage swales, municipal grounds, traffic control signs, and roadway lighting. The Department also provides other necessities of suburban life such as street sweeping, and snow removal and ice control to provide a pleasant and safe environment for the Village’s residents.

Help "green" Hoffman Estates by planting a free tree! The Village of Hoffman Estates, in partnership with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, is giving away free pin oak tree saplings to residents. Saplings are available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. They are available at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave., for pickup. Call (847) 490-6800 to ensure availability. There is a limit of two saplings per resident. Saplings must be planted on a resident's property, and they are not permitted in the parkway.
